Homecoming is a big deal. It’s a time to dress up, put on big smiles, and have a good time. Lincoln students danced the night away at the Homecoming Dance. During the week, Lincoln had lots of activities in store for its students. On Monday, students wore their pajamas to school. Tuesday we represented our favorite colleges by wearing sports jerseys, beads and T-shirts. Wednesday seniors took their class picture in the gym. Thursday all students wore green and gold to show their spirit for the night of the Lincoln vs. Mosley game. Next issue: Wed., Nov. 30

Welcome back!
Lincoln alumna Denise H. walks with Coach David Wilson during halftime at the Homecoming game while announcers tell Denise’s Miracle Story.
On Saturday, Mar. 5 2005, Denise was admitted into the Neurological Intensive Care Unit at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The doctors were not sure what was wrong but they knew she was very sick. The next day, Denise was diagnosed with meningial encephalitis, swelling of the brain. The protective layer around Denise's brain was swollen. The doctors said it was likely Denise would not survive. Denise pulled through and had to relearn how to walk and talk again. Denise is a former FSU cheerleader and is now coaching young girls at Gym Force, a local all-star cheerleading program.
